Hi my name is Caroline Wagstaff and in 2013 I celebrated 10 years of selling my award winning inventions, the BackBliss Lotion Applicators and Back Scratchers. To honour this milestone I decided to re-launch the products with this new web site, new packaging and some targeted marketing to get my products 'out there' a bit more. It is amazing to think this all began in an idea on a beach in1998 and the product being launched in 2003.
In t2003 I won a Global Women's Innovators and Inventors Network award (GWIIN) and was a finalist in the British Female Inventor of the Year (BFIY) competition. The Daily Express carried a double page spread about me and I appeared on TV with Melinda Messenger and Richard Arnold talking about BackBliss and the product was shown and demonstrated on London Tonight.
In 2005 I took part in the second series of the BBC2 show Dragons' Den but didn't secure any funding when I appeared on the show. The Dragons' liked my product but didn't think they could make enough money for themselves by backing me.
Undaunted by this I then started Words of Art in 2009 selling greetings cards and pictures, featuring jewels, crowns and many things particular to my home town of Windsor. I am luckily enough to supply some of the UK's most prestigious Royal attractions and I was commissioned to create a very special picture in 2012 for a well known public school near Windsor, which was then presented to Her Majesty the Queen to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee. More recently I have working with Historic Scotland on some exclusive greetings cards for them, which will be in their shops in the Spring of 2014.
In between all thise I have also found the time to write a lovely little book about my home town of Windsor entitled WINDSOR - Fun, Facts, History & Legend. The book is sold throughout the town, including Windsor Castle and the Royal Farm Shop and is now in its third edition.
In 2011 in collaboration with Wares of Knutsford I created a large range of jar and bottle labels assembled from my Mum Rosemary Wagstaff's paintings of flowers, fruit, vegetables, garden utensils and creatures. The labels are sold by Wares of Knutsford, the Royal Horticultural Society and Women's Institute's Denman College in Oxfordshire amongst others.
I run BackBliss and Words of Art myself with occasional help. If you want to contact me for any reason, use the Contact form.
